TikTok - Videos, Shop & LIVE

I actually got TikTok on my phone last year cuz all my friends kept sending me links that wouldnt open right in my browser. I gotta admit, the algorithm is almost scary good. Once you start liking a few videos, the For You feed just nails your taste. I spent like three hours scrolling on my first night without even realizing it. The interface is pretty smooth for just swiping through stuff, and the search bar actually works way better than Instagrams for finding specific trends or recipes.

But man, the shop tab is getting super annoying lately. It feels like every third video now is someone trying to sell me some cheap plastic gadget or freeze-dried candy. I went into the content preferences in the settings to try and filter some of this stuff out, but there is no easy button to just turn off the shopping ads completely. Its also super laggy sometimes when I try to open the LIVE tab. My phone gets really hot if I stay on a live stream for more than ten minutes, which is kinda sketchy. Still use it everyday though, just wish they would tone down the ads.
