Expert Review & Analysis
I downloaded this because my little nephew keeps grabbing my phone to play games and somehow always ends up opening my banking apps or texting random people. The setup for Privacy App Guard was actually pretty quick. I just opened the app, drew my pattern, and tapped the little padlock icon next to my photo gallery and my WhatsApp. It definitely does its job keeping people out of stuff they shouldnt be looking at.
But its not perfect. The interface looks a bit dated, and the toggle switch for locking new apps is way too easy to miss. My biggest annoyance is that sometimes when I unlock my phone there is a weird lag before the lock screen actually pops up over the app I'm trying to open. If you tap too fast, you can almost see whats underneath for a split second. It feels a bit clunky and unfinished in that department. I also wish there was an easier way to temporarily turn off the lock for when I am just home alone and dont need everything locked down. It is still a decent, lightweight app for basic privacy but they really need to fix that lag issue.
