Nextcloud

I actually got this app because my Google Photos was hitting that annoying 15GB limit, so I set up a Nextcloud server on a cheap VPS. If you don't have your own server running already, don't even bother downloading this because the app is literally just a blank login screen when you first open it.

For me, the main reason I keep it is the auto-upload feature. I just set it to watch my Camera folder and upload only when I'm on Wi-Fi, and it works pretty well in the background. It's super nice knowing my photos are backing up to my own hardware without me thinking about it.

But man, trying to actually do anything else in the app is a pain. The built-in document editor is super clunky and hard to use on a phone screen. I tried editing a simple text file the other day and it kept lagging, so now I just use the app to grab files when I'm out and do all my actual editing on my PC. Also, the share button works but sometimes setting up a password for a link feels like it takes way to many taps. Its fine for basic file browsing, but it definately has some rough edges.
