Expert Review & Analysis
I downloaded ArrowIQ last week to have something to play on my commute and it's actually pretty addicting. The basic concept is simple, you just tap the arrows to make them fly off the screen but they block each other so you got to figure out the right order. Up to level 40 or so its mostly easy, but then it gets genuinely tricky. I caught myself staring at the board for five minutes straight yesterday trying not to waste my last mistake life.
The visual style is super clean and the sound when an arrow clears feels really satisfying. Also love the daily challenge calendar thing where you can earn trophies, gives me a reason to open it every morning.
My main issue is the power-up buttons at the bottom of the screen. I accidentally hit the hint icon twice because its placed right next to where your thumb naturally rests while playing. Extremely annoying to lose a hint like that when I didnt even mean to tap it. Also sometimes the game stutters a bit when there is a ton of arrows on the board at once. Good puzzle game overall though, just needs a small layout fix for those buttons.
